Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXX is currently contained within a Heavy Containment Bunker at Reinforced Site-04. Approximately 600 cubic meters of SCP-XXX have been filled completely with EBM-4471. The first six cubic meters of SCP-XXX remain unobstructed; once a week and while Samuel Jensen is awake, specialists are to fully replace the EBM-447 and check for fissures in the walls surrounding it. All personnel attending to SCP-XXX are advised to wear eye protection when working with the anomaly and to never look directly into it.
Instances of SCP-XXX-1 pose minimal risk to Foundation personnel. Their appearance, actions and speech are to be recorded.
During periods of increased SCP-XXX activity, the object's containment chamber and all lines of sight into it are to be completely sealed. Should the Artificially Intelligent Conscript tasked with observing SCP-XXX while it is active declare a Code Red, the bunker is to be flooded with EBM-447 and essential personnel are to be evacuated from RS-04.
Samuel Jensen is to be medically and psychologically evaluated weekly. The effects of SCP-XXX on his health are to be recorded and any disorders or diseases contracted in containment are to be treated with intravenously-administered medication. As the presence of SCP-XXX has rendered him unable to eat or drink, food and water is administered intravenously 3 times daily.
Description: SCP-5295 is a spatial anomaly contained within the body of Samuel C. Jensen, director of the SCP Foundation's Department of Astronomy. The interior of Jensen's mouth has been replaced by a tunnel of indeterminate length and varying length and height, the opposite end of which constantly emits a bright pink light and ultraviolet rays.
SCP-XXX has subsumed Jensen's mouth and the front of his body. Its opening extends from his top lip to his groin, and its presence has rendered him unable to speak and has caused him difficulty moving his legs and arms. The tunnel is significantly wider and higher past its opening, and its interior walls are uneven, dark red and crumble to the touch. SCP-XXX is not visible when Jensen is viewed from behind.
SCP-XXX-1 are humanoid entities that appear within SCP-XXX's containment chamber and the surrounding bunker while Dr. Jensen is asleep, usually accompanied and preceded by minor alterations to the appearance of the area surrounding him. Instances of SCP-XXX-1 claim to be spiritual guides, preachers and authority figures, and the alterations to their surroundings reflect their professed status and position. Facial analyses of SCP-XXX-1 instances have found no matches in any databases of civilians or persons of interest. Instances of SCP-XXX-1 crumble into a substance similar to the one that comprises the interior walls of SCP-XXX when touched or otherwise physically interacted with by Foundation personnel other than Jensen; their demanifestation does not cause any disturbances in Jensen's sleep. As many as fifteen unique SCP-XXX-1 instances have been encountered in a single night.
Four SCP-XXX-1 instances have appeared more than once, and manifest regularly:
- SCP-XXX-1A: "Pastor Delilah," a middle-aged black woman five feet and six inches tall that always appears dressed in a black sweater and leggings. The areas in which it appears are altered prior to its manifestation to resemble the interior of a church, hallways, or a small garden overlooking a graveyard.
- SCP-XXX-1B: "Tom," an elderly white man approximately six feet and eleven inches tall that always appears dressed in a light grey suit, a light blue dress shirt, a solid black tie and slacks. The areas in which it appears are altered prior to its manifestation to resemble the interior of an auditorium and, on one occasion, a dressing room.
- SCP-XXX-1C: "Fern" (also referred to as "Vidal," "Io," or "Susan"), a six-foot-tall entity of indeterminate race that appears as a man, a woman, or both simultaneously. Regardless of gender, it always appears dressed in stained gray sweatpants, a black puffer jacket, and a motorcycle helmet. The areas in which it appears are altered prior to its manifestation to resemble sewers, subway tunnels and large basements. This instance of SCP-XXX-1 is the only one that has shown outward hostility toward Dr. Jensen, though it appears to be incapable of causing him any real harm.
- SCP-XXX-1D: "Roy Harris," a young Asian man approximately five feet tall that always appears dressed in a blue hooded sweatshirt and jeans. The floors of the areas in which it appears are altered prior to its manifestation to resemble parking lots and sidewalks.
Every 275 hours, the light at the end of SCP-XXX increases in intensity and begins to influence local reality.
Addendum: Log of Interviews, Psychological Evaluations and SCP-XXX-1 Manifestations
- Jensen interacts with other staff at the Site
- Over the course of dreams and encounters it becomes clear that all these spectres want something different from him, with vaguely religious connotations
- Jensen's health deteriorates. Fern/Io/Vidal/Susan wants to kill him. Pastor Delilah wants him to give himself up to a higher power she can't describe. Tom wants fame and attention - or to be a higher power. Roy Harris's motives remain cloudy and ill-defined. And a cast of tens more flicker in and out of Jensen's dreams, filling his mind with their demands and desires and questions. In his waking life, Jensen becomes the unwilling subject of an investigation by his former friends and a deep analysis by a psychologist with motives of his own.
- As the investigation finds a connection between Jensen's condition and a mysterious system of antimemetic "stars," the anomaly's schedule becomes more and more erratic. As a pair of technicians are refreshing the EBM-447 in SCP-XXX, a brief uptick in activity causes one of them to become trapped and irretrievably encased in the material. When the anomaly activates again, it's considerably more intense than it's ever been before. It's nearly a Code Red, but not quite.
- In the ensuing chaos, an interaction between Fern and an unconscious Jensen is automatically recorded and logged. It's an incomprehensible fever dream, but it's heavily hinted that Fern is the lost technician in another form.
