SCP-XXXX's estimated area of effect.

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Keter

Special Containment Procedures: Foundation agents implanted within the World Wildlife Fund are to artificially inflate the numbers of endangered African species. Decreasing populations are to be blamed on organized poaching, with D-Class incarcerated in cases of public outcry. Individuals who have witnessed SCP-XXXX are to be brought to a Foundation agent under the guise of a wellness visit, and amnestised as necessary. Photographic evidence of SCP-XXXX is to be replaced with a targeted visual amnestic.

Description: SCP-XXXX is the sudden disappearance of all organic life residing within the continent of Africa,6 occurring on [DATE]. This occurs through sudden dematerialization, with all organisms reportedly vanishing without showing prior signs of temporal or dimensional instability. The only organism unaffected by SCP-XXXX is humans, with no human disappearances being attributed to SCP-XXXX. Following SCP-XXXX, nearby Hume levels will suddenly spike, causing severe shifts in the surrounding landmass. These Hume levels will remain fairly constant long after SCP-XXXXX has occured, making 97% of the African continent uninhabitable. The Foundation is currently working on the treatment and relocation of individuals exposed to SCP-XXXX.

Efforts to determine the cause of SCP-XXXX have resulted in failure. The most prevailing theory regarding SCP-XXXX is that affected organisms were transported to a secondary location using a form of targeted FTL travel, although this secondary location had not yet been determined.
