Item #: SCP-XXXX
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures:
Description: SCP-XXXX are the remains of various attempts by non-human organisms to achieve manned space travel. SCP-XXXX have never been witnessed until space travel has been achieved, and has no known trigger or method of activation. Spacecrafts created by SCP-XXXX affected animals are very crude, and constructed of unconventional materials unfit for space. SCP-XXXX often rely on functioning through anomalous means, with almost none containing any form of conventional propulsion. Several instances have contained complex machinery constructed of materials such as wood, stone, and decaying organic matter. Corpses found within SCP-XXXX have shown no signs of anomalous development, making this method of construction unknown.
The only similarity between SCP-XXXX instances is their apparent destination being Earth's moon. All discovered spacecraft have been found on course towards or nearby it, with several being found within its orbit. The exact reason for this is unknown, as no SCP-XXXX affected organism has been discovered alive, with most being found dead due to exposure.
There are currently 237 known instances of SCP-XXXX within within our solar system, although it has been theorized that others may exist within other planetary systems. To date, no instance has successfully made contact with the moon.
Addendum XXXX.1 - Notable Instances:
Discovery Date:
SCP-XXXX Description: A large space shuttle composed mainly of timber and scrap metal. Large tree branches are adhered to the lower end of the craft, acting as makeshift wings. Four metal garbage cans are attached to the rear of the craft, and shows signs of exposure to extreme heat. The lower half of the craft is severely burnt, creating large gaps in the structure. The interior of the craft contains several hundred pounds of salmon, rocks of various size, a makeshift abacus, and the corpses of six adult Ursus americanus floridanus.
Discovery Date:
SCP-XXXX Description: A circular white mass with four large antenna extending from the rear of the craft. Chemical analysis has shown the craft to be composed of glass, salt, and deceased coral. Large burn marks are present on the exterior of the craft. The circular mass is filled with seawater and several deceased Euphausia superba.
Discovery Date:
SCP-XXXX Description: An intricate soapstone sculpture consisting of twelve Aldabrachelys gigantea connected by the sides of their shells, creating a large ring. On the shell of each statue is a separate thaumaturgic symbol that glows with green light, although this appears to be only visual. Analysis of this structure shows the presence of liquefied organic matter within the statues, consistent with that of a Each mature giant tortoise.
Discovery Date:
SCP-XXXX Description:
The corpse of an adult Giraffa camelopardalis with several physical augmentations.
Addendum XXXX.1: On [DATE], Lunar Site-32 received several transmissions, later identified as Morse code, from an unknown source. Researcher Allison Russell stationed within Lunar Site-32 responded to the message, and was able to maintain communication for 23 minutes before the conversation abruptly ceased. Further investigation discovered an instance of SCP-XXXX (referred to as XXXX-204) within the moon's orbit.
XXXX-204 is a cylindrical wooden structure constructed of timber and various wooden parts. XXXX-204 was more advanced than previously discovered instances, showing evidence of professional carpentry and the use of more complex construction equipment. Attached to the front of XXXX-204 was a wooden approximation of a satellite dish, along with several wooden poles similar to antenna. A large hole was present in the rear of the structure, allowing access to the interior. Within the ship were various leaves, a glass fishbowl, a large amount of acorns, and various non-functional communication equipment. No further transmissions from XXXX-204 have been received.
Included below are the transmissions between Lunar Site-32 and XXXX-204.
XXXX-204: HELLO. CANT HOLD THIS LONG.
XXXX-204: BAD SIGNAL. UNCLEAR.
XXXX-204: HELP.
XXXX-204: NEED LANDING.
Researcher Russell: HELLO.
Researcher Russell: WHERE ARE YOU.
XXXX-204: NEED LANDING. NOT LONG BEFORE GONE.
Researcher Russell: WHY DO YOU NEED TO LAND.
XXXX-204: NEED TO LEAVE. CANT GO BACK HOME.
XXXX-204: BAD THINGS HAPPEN. OTHERS FORGET. NEED SAFETY.
Researcher Russell: WHAT DID THEY FORGET.
XXXX-204: I DONT KNOW.

Addendum XXXX.1: On [DATE], Lunar Site-32 detected an unidentified structure approaching the moon's atmosphere.
Upon entering the structure, agents discovered a living Sciurus carolinensis within a modified glass fishbowl acting as a respirator through anomalous means.
Further analysis has shown this squirrel (designated SCP-XXXX-1) to possess sentience, along with advanced knowledge of anomalous engineering. Included below is an interview conducted with SCP-XXXX-1 post-recovery. The interview was conducted through a modified keyboard and computer terminal.
