Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Euclid

SCP-xxxx (brightest) taken by Hubble telescope.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-xxxx is currently uncontainable due to its nature and vast size. Current containment is focused on limiting public knowledge of SCP-xxxx. Foundation personnel embedded in space observation programs and astronomy communities are to discourage and disprove any discoveries made by civilian astronomers.

Foundation-owned space probes WANDERER-09, -13 and -14 are currently located in the Canis Majoris system to monitor and relay back any sound coming from SCP-xxxx. Manned explorations are discouraged.

Description: SCP-xxxx is the Foundation designation for the star Alpha Canis Majoris A, more commonly known as Sirius A, currently the brightest star visible from Earth.

SCP-xxxx is capable of broadcasting sounds ranging from 600-750 dB, which is audible even in vacuum space, the means of transmission is still unknown. Recorded sounds are a feminine human voice humming to seemingly random melodies.

SCP-xxxx's anomalous properties were not discovered until 2008 when Foundation space probe WANDERER-031 picked up a loud humming sound while traveling through the Alpha Canis Majoris system. Initially thought to be a malfunction, the sound was later determined to originate from Sirius A.
