FILE REVISED

Due to recent events involving Researcher Reid Chase, this file has been revised and continued.

— Site-77 Director, Emily Wilms

Item N°: XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: Access to SCP-XXXX is limited to Level-4 Clearance or higher. In the event that an individual enters SCP-XXXX, they are to be presumed dead, and no actions for recovery will be taken.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a dimensional anomaly existing in the home computer of Head Researcher Reid Chase. Within it is a 3-Dimensional model of Chase's home in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Around the home is a void, with numerous white lights scattered in the distance. Various alterations have been made within SCP-XXXX, widely distorting its internal geometry, spacial, and dimensional stability. The model and Chase's actual home are entangled, with changes in the former manifesting in the latter. Following no observable pattern, SCP-XXXX will experience a multitude of alterations; these however are reversed after an indeterminate amount of time. There are no known methods to enter SCP-XXXX, and the method used by Chase is unknown.

SCP-XXXX-1 refers to the home computer of Chase within his actual home, discovered after agents investigated his home. On its exterior, SCP-XXXX-1 appears to be a normal computer; however, it is incapable of running any additional applications, tasks, or commands input by external forces. Furthermore, it cannot be shut down.

Residing within SCP-XXXX is Head Researcher Reid Chase. He is visible simultaneously both within the home computer's display as well as in the actual home itself. However, Chase is only capable of observing and interacting with SCP-XXXX; any individuals, objects, or entities within the original home cannot be observed by him. Chase is causing stress-induced ontokinetic imprinting throughout SCP-XXXX, affecting the original home inadvertently.

Discovery: SCP-XXXX was discovered within Head Researcher Reid Chase's home after his disappearance was noticed by internal security services. Agents were dispatched to investigate his home, where they found several broken mechanical parts, broken glass, tubes, and an empty oxygen canister.

Addendum XXXX-1: Spatial Alterations

Note: At this time, the connection between Chase and SCP-XXXX had not yet been made.

ALTERATION REPORT

On 5/13/2026, Foundation Agents charged with observing the interior of the home witnessed several spatial alterations, including tally marks appearing on walls, rooms shifting, and rooms spiraling/twisting out of proportion. Despite this, the exterior of the home appeared unchanged.

In addition to this event, several rooms that were not present or otherwise inaccessible in the original variation of the home were accessible to individuals within it. Due to a lack of information regarding such events, no actions have yet been taken.

Addendum XXXX-2: Camera Displacement

On 5/15/2026, MTF δ-11 ("Freezing Cold") placed several cameras within the interior of Chase's home. Site Director Wilms instigated this operation with the belief that camera displacement within the home would cause similar effects within SCP-XXXX, as all alterations in the home affect SCP-XXXX visibly. The following cameras placed by δ-11 are in the following locations:

  • Living Quarters
  • Upstairs Bedroom
  • Stairs
  • Basement
  • Basement 2nd Floor Door (Formerly Kitchen)

All cameras were connected to a secure network back to Site-78, where δ-11 continued to monitor the area for any major spatial changes. It was during this time that δ-11 witnessed a major spatial alteration within SCP-XXXX; the spatial change caused one of the dispatched cameras to change position.

Foreword: It should be noted that at this time, the spatial alteration had already caused a camera to change positions. This recording was taken after the spatial alteration.

<Begin Recording>

00:00:00: [Chase is sitting on the bed. His arms are covering his face and he appears to be distressed. He is wearing a tattered Foundation researcher uniform.]

00:00:57: [He stands up from the bed and stands still before circling around the room.]

00:01:22: [He approaches a desk located next to the bedroom door and places his hand on the table. Nothing of note happens.]

00:01:35: [He stares at the wall. There are several tally marks scratched on it. Chase exits the room.]

00:01:52: [Chase walks down the stairs. The railings twist out of proportion several times over before reverting back to their original state.]

00:02:03: [He reaches the bottom of the stairs. The steps behind him curl upwards, breaking through the second floor. The steps stop curling once the first step breaks through the floor.]

00:02:06: [Chase appears to speak to himself. SCP-XXXX shakes violently as the camera malfunctions and shows static.]

00:02:35: [The video feed resolves itself and Chase is no longer present near the stairs. There is writing etched on the wall, most likely reading 'MIND?'.]

00:02:55: [Chase sits on a couch and crumples in place, falling sideways on the couch. He stays there for a prolonged amount of time.]

00:03:13: [He punches his couch several times. SCP-XXXX starts shaking violently. Part of the second floor, directly above the Living Quarters, collapses.]

00:05:21: [He stands up from the couch and walks towards the Basement.]

00:06:14: [Chase is in the basement. There are several broken pipes, mechanical gears, and oxygen canisters. There is a slight mist covering the basement. Chase shivers slightly.]

00:06:47: [There are markings etched on the floor reading 'REMEMBER?' Chase speaks to himself as he walks towards the subbasement.1]

00:07:06: [Chase opens the door leading to the subbasement. Mist flows out of the door, and Chase hugs his own body. There are icicles forming on the doorframe, and pipes nearby the walls of the door, as well as the interior of the area. Chase walks down the stairs. The mist is too concentrated to see further.]

<Recording End: 00:07:10>

Addendum XXXX-3: Communication Attempt

Two days after the camera displacement, Researcher Tanya Skyer attempted to communicate with Chase by etching messages within his home via whiteboard. The following is a documentation of these attempts.

Skyer: Hello? Chase?

Chase: Hello?

Skyer: Chase, are you there?

Chase: Who?

Skyer: You're Chase, correct?

Chase: I am Chase.

Skyer: What happened to you?

Chase: I worked.

Skyer: On the project? Hypno?

Chase: What Hypno?

Skyer: Do you not remember? Project Hypno, the project on astral projection.

Chase: Is that what it's called?

Skyer: Yes. We worked on it together, with Gregs, and Adam.

Chase: Gregs? Adam?

Skyer: Chase did you forget?

Chase: Forget what?

Skyer: Everything about the project.

Chase: I never worked on a project.

After this attempt, communication from Chase ceased abruptly for two days. Due to the previous attempt at communication insinuating Chase suffering memory loss, another attempt at communication was made to pinpoint the severity of the memory loss.

Skyer: Chase, do you know who Gregs is?

Chase: Gregs? Who is that?

Skyer: How about Adam?

Chase: No.

Skyer: Do you remember your occupation?

Chase: I was a researcher.

Skyer: Researcher for what?

Chase: I don't know.
