SCP-XXXX in its resting position.

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is to be kept in a sealed locker in Site-08's Secure Item Storage. It is accessible only to Level-2 personnel and above.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a Springfield Model 1861 rifle with the phrase "Money Talks" engraved on the right side of the muzzle. Its stock has a small compartment which opens from the outside, measuring about 2 cm in depth and 3 cm across. The anomalous behaviors of SCP-XXXX can be triggered through the following steps:

  • Opening the compartment and placing any amount of currency equaling $1000 USD1
  • Issuing SCP-XXXX a command, which it will then animate to perform.

Though capable of slowly levitating SCP-XXXX will teleport to its target if it is further than 2m away. The range of its teleportation ability is currently unknown. Once it has carried out its assigned task, SCP-XXXX will reappear at its point of origin.

If it is not issued a command in English within one minute of activation, the object will expel all currency placed in its compartment. When issued a command but not paid a full amount, SCP-XXXX will open and shut its compartment in order to draw attention to it.

Incident XXXX-341 Report: As part of an investigation, marked bills were inserted into SCP-XXXX during testing. Two weeks following this test, a deposit using the aforementioned bills was made at a Bank of America location in Gettysburg, PA. The amount was deposited into the Association for Battlefield Preservation's2 bank account by Michael Allen, the Treasurer of said chapter.

Allen was interrogated and was found to not possess any knowledge of SCP-XXXX. He claimed most of the group's funding came from donations, which were noted to have recently become 'quite generous.' An investigation into ABP's activities and possible ties to SCP-XXXX is currently ongoing.
