Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX is contained at the location of its discovery. Foundation and civilian craft are not to approach within 50 kilometers of SCP-XXXX. As of (date), access to the subject is summarily prohibited.

Description: SCP-XXXX denotes the remains of a space-faring vessel currently located in Sol's asteroid belt at an orbital distance of 2.3 AU. SCP-XXXX is oblong and smooth in shape with a set of engine exhaust vents situated at its rear, measuring approximately 0.5 kilometers long by 100 meters tall in total. The front of SCP-XXXX is thought to contain a command deck and living quarters, evident by the presence of what appear to be windows and a docking bay.

SCP-XXXX is in a severe state of damage and disrepair, with several sections of the ship appearing to have been blown off by explosive decompression at some point, in addition to all external lights being unpowered. Despite the widespread damage, some portions of SCP-XXXX, namely a majority of the assumed living spaces, remain intact.

The contents, origin, and purpose of SCP-XXXX remain unknown.

Discovery: On 9/10/48 a tachyon burst was detected in Sol's asteroid belt. Due to the rarity of tachyon detection events, the SCPF Volos was dispatched from Martian orbit to investigate the source. Upon arrival, the remnants of SCP-XXXX were discovered and investigated, detecting a light gas cloud and tachyonic residue in addition to a field of debris around the ship.

The vessel was run against databases of known vessels and failed to match any known ship registries. This, in conjunction with the abnormal emissions of tachyons led to the object's classification as anomalous.

Addendum XXXX.1: The following is a collection of exploration logs and files recovered during attempts to explore the interior of SCP-XXXX.
