Lonesome World / Looking Back

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: The entrance to SCP-XXXX-A has been cordoned off within an atmospheric and geological monitoring installation accessible only to Foundation personnel. Exploration is permitted with the approval of Dr. Jaskes.

P.o.I. ###### is to remain under surveillance; amnesticization has been deemed unnecessary.

Description: SCP-XXXX denotes a pair of ash pines spaced 1.2 meters apart, located in the northwest section of the Upper Geyser Basin in Yellowstone National Park.

SCP-XXXX are nearly indistinguishable from the surrounding forest except for bare patches of wood on either tree with the words "Remember Us" and "2019" carved into their surfaces respectively. The subjects have proven impervious to damage or attempts at relocation.1 SCP-XXXX-A can be accessed by passing between SCP-XXXX.

SCP-XXXX-A is a spacetime anomaly containing Yellowstone National Park as it was from 5/29/19 to 8/7/19. The anomaly is affected by a time loop that begins when SCP-XXXX-A is entered by a human observer; upon reaching midnight on 8/7/19, all aspects of SCP-XXXX-A revert to how they were when the loop began. Outside materials and observers are returned to the positions they occupied at the time of entry.

Spacetime within SCP-XXXX-A is significantly compressed relative to baseline reality, resulting in time flowing much slower within the anomaly. For example, if an individual were to reside in SCP-XXXX-A for what they experienced as several weeks, mere hours would have elapsed in on Earth.

As far as can be determined, SCP-XXXX-A contains most of Yellowstone National Park and fragments of surrounding land, such as the towns of West Yellowstone, Montana and Cody, Wyoming. The boundaries of SCP-XXXX-A appear as a thick fog; attempting to walk through the boundary returns the interacting individual in the direction they approached from. Further analyses of this fog have been deemed unnecessary.

Addendum XXXX.1: Details surrounding the creation of SCP-XXXX-A remained unknown to the Foundation until 6/16/2041 when SCP-XXXX's protective installation was approached by an unidentified individual who attempted to gain entry to the structure. An on-site guard apprehended the individual and detained them before

SCP-XXXX-A was created by NAME, a curre t resident of Bozeman, Montana sometime in the late 2020s.
