Here Be Monsters

Overall notes: God I love this article. Like, if there were a way to +2, I would. Also, give Dr. Blackbox a name and a college. This article, specifically, should not have any █s in it.

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX should be held in the is to be stored within a storage tube document tube it was initially found in; however, in case of emergency, any steel storage tube with the correct dimensions will suffice. [I think this can be omitted] The storage tube and SCP-XXXX are to be held within a double-lock case- steel document tube and locked inside a doubly-lockedsecure case. [[/span]] , in a room with no flammable materials in Site-73.[I think this can be omitted as well] This box The case is not to may not be unlocked without approval from no less than two multiple level three personnel, or direct commands from O5 O5 authorization.

Description: SCP-XXXX is a 10x25 meter map world map measuring 10 meters in height and 25 meters in width. that uses a projection highly similar to It employs the Mercator projection. Unless marked on, SCP-XXXX does not have any distinctive words, keys, or compass roses on it, as well as lacking the map drawings typical of maps in it's assumed time period. It lacks labels, symbols, or embellishments of any kind. SCP-XXXX's primary Its anomalous effect nature manifests activates when an anatomically correct drawing of a sea creature is added to any drawn inside any water area body of water on the map. This creates a creature of matching dimensions and physical features, henceforth labeled SCP-XXXX-1, at the corresponding real-world location. The figure's position on the map continually shifts to reflect SCP-XXXX-1's current position. All other drawings are immediately erased.

When SCP-XXXX is drawn upon, a sea creature of matching dimensions and characteristics manifests at the exact location in which the creature was drawn. The drawing will also move along the paper as the creature moves in the ocean. Created creatures Instances of SCP-XXXX-1 also have possess fully working functional organ systems, to perfectly fit their needs organs. SCP-XXXX creatures are hereafter referred to as SCP-XXXX-1. Multiple instances will be named in order of creation, as SCP-XXXX-1A, SCP-XXXX-1B, etc. SCP-XXXX-1 instances will suffer total organ failure upon leaving the ocean in any way. SCP-XXXX-1 instances are unable to survive on land due to organ failure. When terminated, drawing Representations of deceased instances disappear from the map SCP-XXXX.

Addendum XXXX.1: Recovery [This whole section needs a lot of work, but I'll stick to grammar changes]
SCP-XXXX was recovered from the home of cartographer and historian Dr. █████ from , of the ██████ College in California. Dr. █████ —had shown demonstrated to his students a map in which the only markings that would stay on the paper were some which retained only drawings of monsters. Upon it's its posting to Facebook, it was immediately intercepted and taken down, with . Dr. █████ and some of his students given were treated with Class-B amnestics. The true anomalous nature of SCP-XXXX became known when an instance one of two instances of SCP-XXXX-1 was discovered and subsequently contained off the shore of Australia a day later, the following day with a description matching one of the creatures on SCP-XXXX. The second potential instance of SCP-XXXX-1 was never found, and disappeared from the map two days after containment recovery of SCP-XXXX.

Here's an example of how to revise it:
On February 18th, 2016, an SCP-XXXX-1 instance was discovered off the coast of Australia. Its physical appearance matched one of two drawings on a picture of SCP-XXXX posted to Facebook by a student at Loyola Marymount University, California. The picture was taken at the home of one Dr. Adebagbo, a professor of history and cartography. SCP-XXXX was recovered from Dr. Adebagbo's home and amnestics were administered to him and his students. The other drawing disappeared two days later; its corresponding SCP-XXXX-1 instance was never discovered.

Testing Logs:

Addendum XXXX.2: SCP-XXXX-1 Log

DesignationArtist Artist's Depiction Test Results Containment/Death
SCP-XXXX-1A Dr. Adebagbo Drawn by Dr. █████, SCP-XXXX-1A resembles a —lLarge black lobster but with ten small legs as opposed to eight small legs. Seemingly drawn quite small on the page, and it is assumed that it was an accidental marking on SCP-XXXX that was improvised into a drawing, as one side is irregularly shaped. —SCP-XXXX-1A was dDrawn with an antique ink pen. SCP-XXXX-1 is a 30 meter30m jet-black lobster -type crustacean that perfectly matches anatomically correct lobsters with no irregular side as shown in the drawing devoid of irregularities. Upon an attempt to transfer SCP-XXXX-1A to a secure Foundation site, SCP-XXXX-1A sSuffered total organ failure despite having a large tank of water during transfer.
SCP-XXXX-1B Class-C personnel Drawn by a Foundation researcher.- SCP-XXXX-1B was a sSmall circle with fins and a mouth, drawn inside of a set drawn at the location of a net in Foundation site 1028, while remaining located in the ocean. The drawing was done Drawn with a sharp pencil. SCP-XXXX-1B appeared within the set out oceanic net. SCP-XXXX-1B was a iImperfectly spherical creature with skin that can be approximated to the skin of a seal seal-like skin, and having a diameter of 5 meters 5m in diameter. Contrary to the circle on the paper, SCP-XXXX-1B has irregularities in its shape, the largest of which being an area in which the creature was significantly larger in. [Already covered by 'imperfectly] Approximately two weeks after creation, SCP-XXXX-1B dDied of total organ failure 16 days later.
SCP-XXXX-1C Class-C personnel trained in marine biology Drawn by a Foundation researcher with artistic experience and experience in marine biology. Drew an approximation of a bBlue whale, with proper proportions relative to the size in real life. Drawn with a pencil, outlines filled out with a pen, and shaded appropriately with colored pencils. While having a similar appearance to a blue whale and being roughly the same size and color, SCP-XXXX-1C has Blue whale featuring an exoskeleton made of chitin, -making it unable to effectively swim or move rendering it incapable of locomotion. SCP-XXXX-1C was hHarpooned to see test for the effect of premature death on SCP-XXXX-1 instances. After slight vocalizations, SCP-XXXX-1C died and disappeared from the map. SCP-XXXX would not produce any creatures for approximately a week and a half after the death of SCP-XXXX-1C For the following 11 days, SCP-XXXX instantly erased all drawings, including those of sea creatures.
SCP-XXXX-1D, SCP-XXXX-1E Class-C personnel trained in marine biology Drawn by a Foundation researcher with artistic experience and experience in marine biology. Drew tTwo identical squids, with the only differences between two being of their sexual organs a male and a female. Drawn with dull pencil. After four attempts at drawing the same two creatures, SCP-XXXX-1D and SCP-XXXX-1E manifested, but half of the size that they were intended to be. Both died shortly after creation. Upon post-mortem examination, both instances of SCP-XXXX-1 were missing organs that the other had. Two squids at half the expected size. One complete set of organs was evenly distributed between the two instances. Died upon creation due to lack of vital organs, with SCP-XXXX-1E lacking a heart and brain expiring instantly, while SCP-XXXX-1D spasmed and shortly afterwards expired.
SCP-XXXX-1F Class-C personnel Drawn by a Foundation researcher. Instructed to draw a sStraight line on SCP-XXXX within the containment area. Drawn with a permanent black marker. SCP-XXXX-1F manifested as an irregularly shaped eEel-like creature. However, SCP-XXXX-1F had a thick shell composed of chitin possessing a thick chitinous shell that weighed it down and made its movement impossible. which rendered it incapable of movement However, the shape of SCP-XXXX-1F proved that drawings on SCP-XXXX are affected by map projections. and irregularities in its shape corresponding to inaccuracies of the Mercator projection. SCP-XXXX-1F dDied of malnourishment within a week— due to its inability to eat and lack of Foundation assistance. SCP-XXXX refused to manifest another creature for another week.
—SCP-XXXX-1G —Mechanical arm Drawn by a Foundation mechanical drawing arm. —Instructed to draw a very small whale in the SCP-XXXX-1 containment area that conforms to Whale with illustration adjusted to account for map distortions, as calculated by researchers. Drew a disproportionate-looking whale, about 120 meters in length. SCP-XXXX-1G manifested as an extremely lLarge whale-like being, creature with skin similar in composition to that of a gorilla , covered in thick and thick blue fur. SCP-XXXX-1G appears to have higher sentience and has learns Displays intelligence and is taught to answer yes-no polar questions. SCP-XXXX-1G does not appear to expire as other SCP-XXXX-1 instances do. This is assumed to be due to his anatomic perfectness. SCP-XXXX-1G is contained in Site-1028 and does not appear to expire, even after two months of existence. SCP-XXXX-1G is Has survived in containment for 2 months. Is to be fed via food dispenser button. Researchers are not to attempt Skinner box experiments upon SCP-XXXX-G due to aggression from SCP-XXXX-G. MTF-Theta-7 ("Whale Watchers") are to be armed with specially designed manufactured tranquilizer darts and are instructed to avoid harming SCP-XXXX-1G. to avoid causing the instance harm in any way.
