Item #: SCP-5902
Safe

Special Containment Procedures: The hallway leading to SCP-5902 has been walled over and is to be painted with paint containing lead to match its surroundings. All scheduled experiments and explorations have been postponed until further notice.

Description: SCP-5902 is a room accessible within a sub-basement hallway of the Pennsylvania Hospital. Secured on the door is a metal placard reading "SCP Foundation Department of Abnormalities". SCP-5902 is inaccessible to those with professional medical training; upon entering through the doors they will exit into the hallway leading to SCP-5902.

Items discovered within SCP-5902 include:

  • 8 leather limb and neck restraints
  • A gurney
  • An upright hospital bed; a human form appears to be imprinted on the mattress cushion.
  • 10 unused bottles of pentobarbital and their corresponding intravenous injectors.
  • 2 intravenous cannulas.
  • A solidified matter composed of human flesh, hair, and tempered steel found at the bottom on the hospital bed. Trace amounts of Potassium and Chlorine were discovered on it.
  • 3 intravenous injectors inserted into the hospital bed; these are unable to be removed.
  • An inmate uniform dating to 1900.
  • 12 Petri dishes containing various bacteria corresponding to different diseases.

A trapdoor was later discovered in the observation room leading to another flight of stairs and a track of asphalt. Globules of steel and human skin were discovered at the beginning of the track. Extinguished torches line the walls of the track every 6 meters; over 200 fragmented steel chains were recovered within this pathway. 4.8 kilometers until ceasing at another staircase under the former Eastern State Penitentiary.

The staircase leads to another sub-basement room composed of limestone and concrete. Within it is a human heart that continuously beats once every 5 minutes. 3 boxes containing varying muscle relaxants were found next to the heart; most bottles had been used. A steel bowl on a table held 78 red pills. Embedded into the north wall are 4 steel limb restraints and cuffs; every time the heart beats, an intense heat will emanate from the center of where the chains meet.

Addendum

Disembodied voices were heard 3 months after the primary discovery of the sub-basement hallway under the observation chamber. For 7 minutes, the phrase ‘I’m sorry’ was repeated over 400 times by various male and female voices. After this ceased, the heart discontinued its pattern of beating; a mass within the chains combusted following the stoppage of the heartbeat. The fire is yet to be extinguished.
