Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Pending

Special Containment Procedures: No formal containment procedures for SCP-XXXX have currently been devised or are believed to be possible. Operation "Crowning Phoenix" has been proposed by O5 Command and is currently undergoing consideration by the Ethics Committee as a method of containing SCP-XXXX.

Description: SCP-XXXX is the designation for Eliana Smith, a girl of dubious existence. Aall SCP-XXXX-1 instances recall knowing as a childhood friend despite significant gaps of age, birthplace, or social class between instances that would make it impossible. While minor details such as ethnicity or precise age differ per instance's recollection, consistent details of SCP-XXXX's life can be remembered.

  • SCP-XXXX is consistently remembered as kind towards SCP-XXXX-1 instances. No instances can remember episodes of SCP-XXXX being cruel towards them or anyone else, and instances typically point to SCP-XXXX as an inspiration to join the Foundation.
  • SCP-XXXX is always considered by instances to be their best friend or one of their best friends. No romantic ties or a permanent end to their friendship has been recalled by any instances
  • SCP-XXXX is usually noticeably less financially stable than the instance, usually requiring some occasional financial support from the instance's family. In the case of SCP-XXXX-1-07 and her family's wealth, SCP-XXXX was instead middle class.

At a certain point in their life, typically towards the end of their primary education, SCP-XXXX and the instance will part ways. The event is considered sorrowful, but necessary towards both parties, and instances will depart on good terms with SCP-XXXX. Upon the departure, SCP-XXXX will inform the instance that "We'll see each other again, [NAME]. I'll make sure of it."

The existence of SCP-XXXX's personal life can be verified in each individual town or city it was recalled to live in: teachers, neighbors, other friends, etc, will all recall SCP-XXXX exactly as the SCP-XXXX-1 instance described it. Photographs1, school records, and alleged gifts by SCP-XXXX have all been found in each case.

Despite this, no trace of SCP-XXXX can be found after its supposed departure. When asked where SCP-XXXX departed to, all those who knew it will come up with unclear and inconsistent answers, none of which appear to have any factual basis. Due to this, the possibility of SCP-XXXX existing as an actual human being is in doubt.

All known fifteen instances of SCP-XXXX-1 have been employees of the Foundation. No method or pattern of similar traits have been noticed between each instance, with Site Directors, junior researchers, and Mobile Task force members among them.

Discovery: SCP-XXXX was recalled when SCP-XXXX-1-01, SCP-XXXX-1-02, and SCP-XXXX—1-03 were discussing their personal lives. SCP-XXXX-1-01 brought up their friend Eliana Smith in casual conversation, and SCP-XXXX-1-02 remarked that they also had a friend with the same name. When SCP-XXXX-1-03 informed them that they also recalled a childhood friend named Eliana Smith, full background checks were ordered, resulting in the discovery of [REDACTED] additional instances.

No instance had known another instance prior to joining the Foundation. The closest two instances had grown up approximately 1900 km apart from each other, and were never in the same country prior to joining the Foundation.
