The staff at Outpost 4382 have worked through the night. Their full report is still barely a half-draft.

Command wants answers.

As the sun creeps over the horizon, the team sends three A/V engineers out to purchase breakfast, snacks, and tremendous amounts of coffee. They head to a small truck-stop diner; it’s the only place within sane driving distance.

The diner is empty. The trio grab the booth closest to the door. When the waitress arrives, it takes six full minutes to relay their order: every allergy, every intolerance, every eclectic preference for milk, cream, sugar, and sweeteners.

It will take a while, she replies.

One man stands by the door and has a long overdue smoke.
One woman, to her great chagrin, uses what passes for a restroom.
One man checks the classic rock jukebox, counts how many songs he knows, and feels old.

No one has entered or exited the diner since they arrived. The waitress went into the kitchen and hasn’t come back out. Yet somehow, when they re-convene, six things are waiting for them at the booth.

Three cups of black coffee,

two bear claws,

a map,

and a mystery.

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-ROADMAP is currently stored within the site-28 recovered documents vault. 24-hour surveillance, along with automated, periodic¹ scans should be maintained. Following any discoveries by MTF-Eta-8, SCP-ROADMAP should be immediately, and directly inspected.

Description: SCP-ROADMAP is a simplified, laminated map of the United States. Ten black marks are placed in locations across the country, connected by a green dotted line. Upon discovery by any member of the Foundation, the corresponding “X” will turn into a colored star. In conjunction, a stylized graphic of a cartoon chameleon will appear. This character, named "Karma", will provide written exposition on this location, detailing it’s anomalous features as tourist attractions.

While this document constitutes a serious breach of information, it may also serve as a Thaumiel-class containment aide. Full classification within the main Foundation database is currently pending. The newly formed MTF-Eta-8 “Sight Seers” have been dispatched to investigate the undiscovered locations present on RM-90289-A. Given the geographical scope and imprecision of the map, this is considered a long-term project.
