Description: SCP-3242 is a wooden model of the Point Moore lighthouse, with a height of 41cm. The object has large quantities of brain matter in its interior, with neural activity matching that of humans. Genetic tests of the brain cells show no similarity with known organisms.[Bibliography item brain2 not found.] Small pores in the brain matter, clustered by the windows of the model, produce cognitohazardous vocalizations in a monotone voice. Common vocalizations include:

• "Today is lighthouse appreciation day. Participate. All the good people are."
• "Learn about lighthouses and be less uncultured."
• "Lighthouses are important to the worlds."
• "Do you know that people who aren't interested in lighthouses are philistines."

Subjects that hear these phrases will begin to include citations referencing nonexistent sources^{Citation lost.} in written works they create. This includes scientific articles, varying documentation, fictional works, and nonfiction. The formatting of the citations vary, though all include mentions of lighthouses. Any digital documentation written about SCP-3242 will include these citations, along with the inclusion of distorted images pertaining to lighthouses and advertisements for GoI#1212. All attempts to remove these have failed.

Of note is that affected subjects that write about lighthouses will have Modern Language Association format citations and known sources.[Bibliography item jim not found.] It is theorized that the cognitohazard carries information on the subject, which is added to subject's memory on exposure. However, testing subjects on lighthouse information yielded no results.

Discovery Log: SCP-3242 was discovered on 30-November-2016, in Toronto, Canada at 7:01 AM. According to witnesses, a long human arm with a yellow suit sleeve extended out of the pavement at blah, holding SCP-3242. A credit card scanner was attached to the dorsal area of the hand. After a minute the arm began to elongate and bend towards civilians, causing panic. After police calls were intercepted MTF Upsilon-20 ("Hogtown Garrison") was dispatched at 7:08 AM. Agents approached the arm, which handed the anomaly to them while trembling and sweating.[Bibliography item work not found.] It sunk into the ground and vanished after, with a black silhouette of a lighthouse momentarily appearing behind it.[Bibliography item lighthouse not found.]

Task force agents administered amnestics to witnesses, and online information suppression tactics were undertaken. The cognitohazardous properties and the affects on direct information were identified after reports on containment and research were written, which matched the inclusion of bibliographies on civilian social media posts. Anti-meme KOPU was developed after testing.

Addendum.1: On 10-December-2016 at 5:30 AM, an entity, designated SCP-3242-1, manifested in SCP-3242's containment chamber. SCP-3242-1 resembled the entity encountered during in the discovery log, though its suit sleeve was dark blue instead of yellow. It began knocking on the chamber's walls, asking to speak with a manager⁹. Researcher Annabel Xiulan and four armed security guards were sent to the chamber, with two guards entering and two kept on standby outside. After the guards determined that the entity was unlikely to be hostile, Xiulan entered.

Both agents turn their body mounted flashlights on. Portions of a large organic entity can be seen near where the opposite wall was, which were frequently changing shape and size. Dimly lit amorphous objects are moving below them.

Ankit: Well we're not alone in here.

He aims his gun down.

I'll keep watch on whatever these things are.

Lhaden positions her flashlight to view SCP-32421-1. The entity's arms extend down for an unknown distance, and are connected to a spherical tangle of arms. A shape resembling a human face is present in it. The entity is rapidly shaking.

Lhaden: Christ, is that what it is?

Xiulan: Okay, I… I can still feel the wall even though it's disappeared.

Xiulan: I-I'm rubbing my hands along it. I can feel the grooves of the door!

Lhaden: Can you feel the control panel?

Xiualan: I… I can! I can!

Lhaden: Try to open it as fast as possible!

Ankit: Seconding! Also, can somebody else look and see if those blobs are getting closer to us?

Xiulan: They are, Ankit! Also I'm pushing the control panel buttons right now and nothing is happening!

Lhaden: Christ. Mister R, tell us!

• "You will be lost at sea." The room becomes dark and all security feeds are lost. Security and Xiulan start telling Command about what they see, which is darkness with shapes moving nearby
• 3242-1's arms go down and form a tangled mass of arm, with a face apparently on it. He gives in and says that YWTGTHFT broke a LEUCHTTURM shrine when building a store and letting people know about him was their deal with him to stay safe
• Room returns to normal, 3242-1 breaks down. The Supervisor disables him and the sounds of wet thuds and keyboard clacking is heard. An automated message plays that apologizes for the breakdown, and a Laugh is Fun coupon is let out of its sleeve as an apology gift. Both arms sink into the ground.

can't say I was a big fan of the interview. The use of italic actions in the same lines rather than separate was rather disorienting, and the dialogue seemed rather forced. The latter bit may be personal taste though, so I'd still ask around

Still don't like the hints about the lighthouse god. If it was a real god that would be fine, but as it's something you've made up and haven't used in a work before it just feels confusing

The exaggerated flailing and panic make xiulan and the rep feel like caricatures instead of characters, along with dialogue that's simultaneously a bit too on the nose while not revealing anything actually interesting

Honestly I'm not personally invested in them enough to care much. Leuch is wholly absent and thus has no characterization, and the sales people just seem like weird mc&d. The latter could work fine with some charm and humor, but I don't really find that it pulls it off atm. I'm not trying to be too bashy but I'm just really not a fan of either the concept or the execution here tbh :/

SCP-3242-1's original arm rapidly extends and grabs SCP-3242. Agent Lhaden fires at the arm and severs it in half, causing the anomaly to fall onto the ground. The second arm grabs it the hand sinks into the floor. Another shot splits in the arm in half lengthwise.

The consumption process is characterized by chunks of information from a document being deleted over the course of three days. Each chunk is approximately 300 characters long in text documents, and is deleted instantly. For images, gradual image corruption will occur until the image is unusable, which normally takes two days. On the third day the image will be deleted from the document. In most cases this process leaves behind an empty document, though on rare occasions the document will be deleted.

The first known manifestation of SCP-XXXX was on documentation of SCP-033 on 23/11/16, consuming information of it on Gimmel-2, 3, and 5. This was believed to be database corruption until the Memetics Division noticed a pattern between various information losses. Based on the lack of information on deletion in the affected articles' change logs, it was theorized that an anomalous entity was causing these deletions. To test this, several Foundation bots and AICs were set to monitor pages on Foundation database and report any additions to the change logs. If information was removed and no records of the change existed, there was infovorous activity. After several SCP-XXXX manifestations with no recorded changes, the information losses were determined to be anomalous. The anomaly was designated SCP-XXXX on 1/4/17.

Addendum-1: As of 20/4/17, the frequency of SCP-XXXX activity has increased to it affecting six documents per day. Special Containment Procedures: SCP-3VVV should be stored in the Digamma Training Chamber at Site-201. Members of Mobile Task Forces suited for higher spatial dimension exploration and containment are authorized to use SCP-3VVV as means of training, with a minimum of two agents in the anomaly at a time. During training exercises, one agent that is proficient in navigating four-dimensional space must be present in the anomaly to assist and help agents in training.

Researchers must submit requests to a Level 4/3VVV researcher for permission to perform studies or experiments within the anomaly.

Description: SCP-3VVV is a 1975 Ford Transit 100 Campervan. Entering the vehicle through the front seat doors and any window leads to the normal interior of the vehicle, which possesses nothing of significance. Entering through any other entrance leads to SCP-3VVV-A, an area with four spatial dimensions¹⁹; possessing a height of 4 meters, a width of 5 meters, a length of 20 meters, and a slant²⁰ of 8 meters. Due to these properties, subjects untrained in handling higher dimensional anomalies will experience Hamilton Syndrome²¹ on primary exposure[Bibliography item h not found.]. The materials and objects composing this space are identical to those found in non-anomalous 1975 Ford Transit 100 Campervans.

Discovery Log: SCP-3VVV, prior to coming to the Foundation's attention, was used by criminals Alphonse Octave Paol Pierrick and Yann English. Pierrick and English had been performing criminal activities within Toronto, Ontario, Canada, consisting of stealing money from various stores²². Both were arrested on 1-Sep-2016 following an attempted robbery of an RBC Royal Bank, though they reportedly "vanished" while in custody. It is unknown when SCP-3VVV was obtained, though it is likely around this time.

On 14-May-2017 Pierrick and English drove SCP-3VVV to the B2B Bank in Toronto and subsequently broke in at 11:13 AM, armed with anomalous AK-47s²³. The two attempted to hold employees on the second floor hostage, demanding a sum of $10,000,000 from the bank. Police and Emergency Task Forces were dispatched to the building, successfully breaching the second floor after an hour. At this point Pierrick and English had fled from the building, and a police officer spotted them entering SCP-3VVV and driving away from the scene. During the ensuing chase SCP-3VVV disappeared after rounding a series of street corners at 12:56 PM.

SCP-3VVV was found in a trailer park within the vicinity of Toronto by police helicopters, and ETFs arrived at the location at 2:01 PM. Having intercepted police transmissions regarding SCP-3VVV vanishing, MTF Upsilon-20 ("Hogtown Garrison") was put on standby due to suspicions of anomalous activity. A perimeter was established around the anomaly by officers, presuming that the suspects were inside the trailer. Civilians were subsequently vacated from the park.

At 2:10 PM ETFs entered SCP-3VVV-A via the side entrance, immediately experiencing Hamilton Syndrome. Pierrick and English, positioned at the far end of the area, fired continuously at the entrance from behind cover. Four officers were killed, one was injured, and one went missing. MTF υ-20 was dispatched, and MTF Theta-90 ("Angle Grinders") was called to be sent to the area. ETFs were removed from the area as υ-20 arrived at 2:41 PM. θ-90 arrived at 4:01 PM after being transported from their standard area of operation, a new perimeter having been set up by υ-20.

Multiple attempts were made to investigate SCP-3VVV-A through the use of drones, though all drones either crashed from navigational and signal transmittance difficulties[Bibliography item radio not found.], and from being destroyed by Pierrick and English. Attempts at entering the anomaly failed from the onset of Hamilton Syndrome among agents. Beginning at around 5 PM, agents dropped and threw various small objects into the area to observe the behavior of objects in the space, along with determining how movement would function.

At 6 PM stun grenades were deployed into SCP-3VVV-A. A team of ten agents, with members from both task forces, entered the anomaly immediately after via the roof entrance. English opened fire from the far end, and Pierrick had moved to the back end. Due to the team's lack of navigational skills within the anomaly, the team split up after several minutes and took cover behind various crates and shelves. Three agents were injured in the process. Following this an attempt was made by agents to wound either criminal, though the constant gun fire resulted in multiple weapons being damaged.

Continuous firing began to erode available cover, prompting Agent Shelia Thornton to tackle and stab Pierrick with a combat knife. Agent Thornton died from bullet wounds to the head in the process. After Pierrick was injured, him and English disappeared. AO#1127 was left by Pierrick in the process. Abnormal fluctuations in Elan-Vital Energy²⁴ were detected by Zhenya Aetheric Resonance Imagers²⁵ established around the anomaly at this time, which have been determined to be from the use of thaumatological abilities and the movement of the particles between different dimensional areas[Bibliography item EVE not found.].

Immediately following these events, researchers with the aid of agents set up a Neustadt Dimensional Measurer in the anomaly, which determined the number of spatial and temporal axes. Spatiotemporal distortion was not recorded.

An inspection of SCP-3VVV-A found 20 bags of narcotics, including:

• Cocaine
• Methamphetamine
• Cannabis
• Diamorphine
• Various demonarcotics (SCP-███, SCP-████, and SCP-████)
• SCP-1317 instances
• SCP-1853 (Stored in a set of 10 glass vials)
• SCP-████ (Found in a digital safe, stored in a triply key-locked cupboard shelf. The words "PERSONAL USE" were written on the bag in permanent marker.)

These drugs were stored in shelves, cupboards, and crates, along with 16,735 CAD. It is currently suspected that SCP-3VVV was used as part of a drug selling and trading operation, utilizing SCP-3VVV-A as a means of efficiently storing the substances and any money made. In addition, a paper list of multiple groups and persons of interest, showing notes and contact information for each one, was found during the inspection. A transcript of this list can be found in Document 3VVV-E8.

All non-anomalous drugs and money were given to the Toronto Police Service, and ETF officers that knew of or saw SCP-3VVV-A were administered amnestics. Cover stories regarding Pierrick and Yann's activities were released, reporting that both were killed by ETF officers. SCP-3VVV was transported to Site-201 on 15-5-17. Alphonse O.P. Pierrick has been designated as PoI#6752, and Yann English has been designated PoI#1356. Currently the TPS and multiple police forces in Canada have been alerted to the possibility of further activity by both PoIs. Agent Shelia Thornton has been posthumously awarded the Foundation Star.

Noé: So, you've seen the animations of tesseracts?

Xiulan: The ones with the cube analogies twisting and bending as it rotates through 4D space, right?

Noé: Correct.

Xiulan: Is that what objects look like in 3VVV-A?

Noé: Not at all. Those animations are a 2D rendition of a 3D version of a 4D object, which is oddly impressive. It's nothing compared to actually seeing and being in 4D space.

Xiulan: Hmm.

Noé: It's actually many times more confusing and difficult to explain. Permission to give an attempt at it?

Xiulan: Shoot.

Noé: So, picture the standard 3D axes. You have x, you have y, and you have z, and they are all going in their normal directions. You can jump up the y and you can walk along the x and y. Now imagine you add a new direction you can naturally walk in. Say, a 45 degree angle between z and y. You can just walk along this weird slant now with issues at all, and jump up it too. Now imagine that direction is a new axes, and follows the laws of physics perfectly well, and all objects incorporate it to some degree. Did that make any sense?

Xiulan: I… Understood it well enough. How bad was it to get accustomed to that?

Noé: Very. You step inside and it's cranial overload. Suddenly everything around you has an alien depth and structure to it, despite the fact that it should be normal. Moving your body is disturbing, since you can't understand where your body is moving to, and for that matter how it is even structured and how it's moving. Best description I can give is that everything is constantly bending and spinning around you, even though it's all in place.

Xiulan: So the whole "dropping stones in thing" strategy wasn't adequate preparation.

Noé: Funny you should mention that, because that was one of the weirdest things I've seen. When you look from outside, uh, SCP-

Xiulan: 3VVV.

Noé: Right, SCP-3VVV. When you look from the outside of it into it's anomalous space, the area seems like someone overlaid the 3D and 4D versions of the space on top of each other. Your brain mostly recognizes the 3D version, but it's trying to rationalize the 4D version so it ends up weirdly blurry and, err, melty, for lack of a better word. The rocks looked like they were constantly twisting and changing shape as they fell through. Y'know, something funny was that the two guys inside would always shoot at what we dropped in, no matter what.

Noé: The only reason I avoided any gunfire was because I fell over and got behind the cover of two crates. I'm not sure how I did, seeing as they were almost my size, but that's how 4D space rolls. I'm fairly certain I scrunched up and tried to avoid looking at anything, though it's an issue when all of the body parts you have that can block your eyes are also 4D. Especially your your eyelids.

Xiulan: I'm hoping you were able to cope with the weirdness eventually.

Noé: I was able to make it out with minimal injuries, so yes, I did. Though it's easier to bruise yourself in 4D space than you think it would be.

Xiulan: Did all of the agents have the same experience?

Noé: I… Think so? Not sure about Shelia though, since I didn't actually see her attack. I know for a fact that the ETFs had it worse than we did. The survivors looked shell-shocked, and one of them genuinely shit himself. It was a tripfest for everyone involved.

Special Containment Procedures: Access to the Amundsen Sea should be restricted, with Foundation vessels circling the area. Investigation of the anomaly should be done with ROVs only, piloted by researchers trained in handling cognitohazards and memetics. Anti-Cognitohazard bots should monitor all footage and images from the ROVs. Any personnel showing signs of possible SCP-3XXX effects should be quarantined and monitored.

Research into the anomaly is ongoing.

Description: SCP-3XXX a cognitohazardous species of Siphonophorae, likely located within the Amundsen Sea, off the coast of West Antarctica. Current knowledge suggests that the cognitohazard causes subjects to gain an affinity for the ocean, which appears to increase over time. Whether this increase happens after one exposure to the anomaly or is the result of multiple exposures is being investigated.

It is unknown when SCP-3XXX was first discovered, though the encounter by the Foundation Research Vessel Pierre Aronnax is the first recorded one. The ship was investigating the possibility of SCP-879-2 instances in the area when the seven onboard personnel were exposed to SCP-3XXX, believed to have occurred around 18-2-2017. Following this contact with the Foundation gradually decreased. As security footage was destroyed, little is known about what happened during this time. Below are relevant excepts from the diary of Researcher Javier Demetrio, one of the ship's crew, which details the affects of the anomaly and relevant events during this time.

Once again, no sign of the elusive -2(s). We've only been out for two days, so I'm not expecting any immediate progress, especially with such a large area to cover. I still don't feel one ship is enough for this investigation, though any more may be a waste of resources if this doesn't turn out to be around here, so I guess it's reasonable. Have seen some cool creatures, so that's a plus.

So far the pheromone trail has led us nowhere. We've got no way to test whether the detector is behaving right, and nobody is going to test the pheromoney water, so we're at a dead end here. It is nice looking out at the native creatures around here, though. You don't expect a lot of life out in this area.

The detectors are busted. James practically broke them off of the side of the boat (didn't know the sub claws were so strong), carefully took them out of the water and, after cleaning them out, poured some water into them. We got a high detection of pheromones from it, then after a few more tests we figured that they were kaput. Sonar and sight is our best bet now, which may get annoying with the normal creatures that swim around the ship, though it might be more obvious if one shows up. Who knows. I'm going to tinker around with the machine a bit with the hopes of getting it working.

For the record I lost my mind after I saw what he was doing, but I've mostly calmed down now.

Some of the creatures I've seen swimming around the boat are pretty strange. They look like long jellyfish, with weird reddish orbs in them that flash every now and then. While Mali and I were looking out from the deck she was telling me about all of the stuff that lives around deep sea vents. I'd known about that before, but it's always been fairly interesting that stuff can live completely isolated from the surface for millions of years and do just fine. It seems so lonely down there, but it's far from that.

Also, before I forget, the pheromone sensors are more broken than I thought they were. Despite my thoughts of James breaking it off having damaged it, something weird happened with the interior (and a bit of the exterior). Some tiny holes had been carved in the side, leading to the electronics components, which had been intrinsically messed with. They got rigged to sense the [illegible - word scribbled out]g pheromones wherever it got dragged in the water. Some weird gel was clogging the holes, probably to prevent internal water damage. I get the feeling something anomalous is going on that isn't related to what we are investigating. Not sure if this has happened to the buoys, though.

Right after I woke up I asked Mali about what the jelly-like serpent things were doing around our boat, since she's the resident marine biologist (the only one that actually wants to talk to me, that is). Her best guess was that there were a type of siphonophore, the things that are big colonies of smaller organisms. She wasn't exactly sure why they are so close to surface, but, strangely, she said, "It's not my job to learn about that." Actually she works as a FOUNDATION marine biologist, so identifying new species isn't her thing. Checks out for me.

Something nice is that she's been staring at the siphonophores a lot too! Turns out neither of us are weird for doing that.

I told the crew what happened to the sensors, and we've gone around and checked up on the buoys. All of them have been broken in the same exact manner. One thing that caught my attention was that every hole that was made into these was a perfect circle. No way any animal could make that, nor could any person be doing this. This is definitely anomalous.

I've done some talking to rest of the crew. Turns out that all of us have been watching the siphonophores! At least how beautiful they are is one thing we can agree on here.

A plan has just been devised to keep watch of the area surrounding the ship. It would be obvious if anything was around the ship in the day, so we'll be changing our schedules to keep watch around the clock. Luckily I don't need to change mine, though Mali will have the opposite schedule as me. It's a bit disappointing not being able to talk to her about the ocean when we're bored.

We'll be contacting the Foundation about this. Only if the anomaly gets bad. Don't want to waste their time with something that could be meaningless.

Jesus christ I got of bed and stretched and my body just leaked. Clear guck spurt out of my back onto the wall, and the same just happened to Kavi. Based on the yells from the other sleeping quarters (dorms?) the same is happening to other people. There's a weird hole on both of our backs and it's freaking us out. Some of the liquid also got on the diary as well, but isn't destroying the ink I've written with in it.²⁶

After a meeting Kali's figured that this hasn't harmed us at all. I should trust him, but I feel like something is very wrong here. He's going to study the liquid, so that might help him learn what's happened to us. Besides from that, business as usual (I think).

While I've been out watching I've done some thinking about the sea. It's (technically) the oldest thing on this planet, since big interconnected bodies of water have been around for billions of years. Continents have come come and gone, but the ocean hasn't, and it'll continue existing for ages (hopefully). Many of the things that live in it, especially the ones deep down at the bottom of the sea, have remained unchanged for millions of years. Nothing interrupts their habitats, and for many, nothing ever will. It's arguably the safest place on the planet.

A few new holes, this time around the neck. Looks like most of us are getting these at the same time, though Mali's being getting much more. Thank whatever gods exist (that don't want us dead) that these aren't painful. In fact, no feeling really comes from them. If you rub your hands on and in them it doesn't even feel like anything. It's still disturbing, but it could be much worse.

Another one of the things I have been reading about was the origins of life. Unless some anomalous stuff created life Life first developed in water, forming from various chemicals in some small, landlocked sea. First were your basic cells, which began to divide through sheer chance, and over time you got the metric ton of organisms on this planet. I knew that before, however, there is an interesting theory that life began to develop around hydrothermal vents, which would provide the early bacteria with the means of easily getting chemicals needed for survival. Those vents we see in the Atlantic and Pacific, while not exactly the same, are the home of all life.

Must be nice down there.

As the days have gone by I keep thinking about the world. Thinking about all of the stuff up here. I don't have a high clearance level so I don't know how much the Foundation has in store, but from what I can tell it's in the thousands. Maybe even a hundred thousand, and a good percentage of those are from the ground and sky. Even a few beyond. You see all of the horrors and dangers that roam up here, and then you look down and see a calm, serene place.

I think The universe is trying to tell us that we don't belong up here.

I've figured out why we keep leaking all over the place. It's the Foundation. They want to keep us up here so we can keep working for them and inevitably die a horrible death. That metal shard that came out of one of Mali's neck holes? I studied it, cracked it open, examined it. It was part of a kill switch. They are turning on devices that have been implanted inside of us to prevent us from spreading the truth about the depths.²⁷

I don't know how we are going to survive this. But we have to find a way.

Today is the last day I will see the crew for a long time. They're going to board the subs, and I'll be the one who operates the lifts to send them off to home. This will be the last time they will ever live on the horrendous surface, and they will go on their pilgrimage to our abyssal birthplace. The guides will help them ease into home once they arrive, which I know they will do well.

As for myself, my voyage to save myhumanity has begun.

On 1-3-2017, the ship's crew, with the exception of Demetrio, boarded the submersibles Conseil-1 and -2. The submersibles were released into the water, and began to descend. Below is a transcript of footage, primarily from an undamaged exterior camera on the front of Conseil-2. Additional recovered footage is also described.

The camera feed of Conseil-2 is turned on, showing the rear deck of the FRV Pierre Aronnax. As it is polar twilight, lights can be seen along the deck railings. Multiple red flashes are seen coming from the water, along with lights from Conseil-1. The submersible begins to move forward as the lifting crane positions it to be dropped into the water. Exterior lights are turned on, and the sub is dropped.

Now underwater, Conseil-2 begins to move towards Conseil-1. Multiple SCP-3XXX instances can be seen swimming in the area, with one longer instance near -1. The long instance begins to descend, and -1 follows it. After a brief pause -2 starts to move along -1's path. Off to the side a humanoid figure with an SCP-3XXX instance sticking through it rapidly moves out of sight.

As the submersibles descend the water becomes darker, and more SCP-3XXX appear in the distance. Only faint flashes can be seen from these ones. Non-anomalous organisms occasionally appear during the descent, though most are constricted by an instance and are pulled out of view. After 30 minutes Conseil -1 and -2 cease the descent and pass over a series of large rocky spires. A translucent mass is moving around the spires.

At this point the footage is corrupted for 23 minutes. All other cameras show the color red and multiple cognitohazardous patterns during this, with the exception of the rear camera. Various rocky objects and translucent shapes are illuminated by a red light, which are rapidly moving towards a point in the distance.

After the 23 minutes all cameras except for the top-facing one turn off. Conseil-1 is above, and SCP-3XXX instances move towards the submersible and circle around it. More instances are faintly seen surrounding the area around both vehicles. After two minutes instances connect together and form a mass that latches onto -1, and begin to press against it. Some instances break apart into red and blue particles during this process.

A minute later the submersible suddenly crumples, likely from depressurization, and sinks past Conseil-2. The mass breaks apart, and the instances move towards -2. The camera starts shaking, and a trail of blood starts drifting up. The vehicle abruptly begins to move up as the instances leave the area. The translucent mass seen at the spires quickly moves in an out of the camera's view. After an hour -2 surfaces, and all cameras turn on. The remaining 15 hours of footage show no anomalous activity. In the last a minute an entity resembling an SCP-879-2 instance moves past the submersible, pursued by multiple SCP-3XXX instances.

After four days without communication from FRV Pierre Aronnax, MTF-Pi-9 ("Dyer's Crew") was dispatched from Antarctic Research Site-98 to the sea. On 5-3-2017, the vessel and Conseil-2 were found and retrieved. Conseil-2 had a series of dents on its underside, along with a broken rotor. The ship had no damage, though all electronic devices were broken. Six liters of cerebrospinal fluid were found storage crates, and Javier Demetrio's journal was found in one of the shared crew cabins. An investigation into the 897 Pheromone Detectors revealed no signs of damage or tampering.

The crew is presumed dead until further notice. The FRV Pierre Aronnax and Conseil-2 are being returned to service.

Addendum: On 14-3-2017, at a depth of 1,400 meters, a Foundation ROV encountered five SCP-3XXX instances. Each instance was either impaled through or wrapped around human bodies, along with body parts. One instance was in the process of connecting multiple organs to a dismembered torso, ejecting a translucent gel for use as an adhesive. The skin of the bodies was heavily lacerated, with a layer of a grey substance coating some areas. The heads had a mass of the grey substance and beige material extruding from the front, with red bioluminescent dots on it. One body can be seen floating in the distance, with translucent material extending from its back. After a minute all of the arms, including disconnected ones, appeared to wave at the ROV before fluids resembling hydrothermal vent emissions obstruct camera view. Connection with the ROV is lost at this time.

Footage analysis shows that the lights on one of the heads were flashing a message in FRSC²⁸. The message says, "It's safer down here." An official designation for the entities is pending.

Special Containment Procedures: Foundation agents and bots embedded in astronomical agencies are to prevent the discovery and research of SCP-3417. Any non-Foundation personnel that learn of or are exposed to the anomaly should be administered Class-B amnestics. Investigation into the anomaly's properties must be done by personnel with a Cognitive Resistance Value (CRV) of 11.2 or higher.

Description: SCP-3417 is a cognitohazardous region of space, approximately shaped like a prolate spheroid. The region has a total length of 1000 parsecs, and a width of 150 parsecs. The anomaly is located roughly 10 megaparsecs away from the Southern Local Supervoid, and contains a few galaxies. Subjects that see SCP-3740 will envision a severed six-fingered hand, with blood trailing from it to be present in the region. The hand and blood trail are the same size as the anomaly, with consistent descriptions between all subjects. However, subjects can not describe exact details of the hand.

SCP-3417 was discovered by National Aeronautics and Space Administration astronomers on 9-July-2017, who were mapping the region around the Virgo Supercluster. Irving Harlan, one of the astronomers and a member of GoI#03088 ("The Church of the Second Hytoth"), wrote and released a scientific paper detailing the anomaly. The paper was alerted to the Foundation by the WATCHDOG program, and after a brief investigation the involved researchers were administered amnestics. Irving Harlan (designated PoI#1290) was detained.
