Begging For Forgiveness

Item #: SCP-XXXX

Object Class: Safe

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-XXXX should be contained in a standard fireproof containment cell, arranged so that its face remains covered at all times. All personnel interacting with the object should be screened for disciplinary issues, as well as involvement with anomalies and containment procedures that could be considered morally questionable.

Any change in the anomaly's condition should be reported immediately.

Description: SCP-XXXX is the skeleton of a six-winged humanoid. In life, SCP-XXXX stood approximately 1.9 meters tall, with wingspans of approximately 4.2 metres based on remaining plumage and bone structure.

SCP-XXXX is continually burning without need of a fuel source or oxygen, continuing to burn even in a vacuum or underwater. The flame, labelled SCP-XXXX-1, does not appear to effect inorganic materials, SCP-XXXX, or any form of life other than sapient creatures. Subjects will burn to death in a matter of seconds.

Eye contact registered with the remains of SCP-XXXX's face triggers a cognitohazardous effect that causes the subject to be engulfed by SCP-XXXX-1. As SCP-XXXX-1 is impossible to extinguish, looking at its face is ultimately fatal.

Looking at any other part of SCP-XXXX induces strongly negative emotions, typically those of shame or sadness. This effect is lessened or absent with certain personnel, the exact parameters of which are currently undergoing testing.
