Special Containment Procedures: Any account attempting to draw attention to SCP-0000 should be discredited.

Description: SCP-0000 is a phenomenon activated when a person is carrying any published work by american horror writer H.P. Lovecraft in the immediate vicinity of a body of water. Within approximately 3-5 minutes, a fish will jump out of the water, snatch the work out of the person's hand, and drop back into the water, where it will quickly swim away.

This phenonom will occur in any body of water plasuibly large enough to support aquatic life, even those that are landlocked, artificial, or have been confirmed to have no fish within them. While glimpses of the fish have been fleeting, all instances recorded so far appear to be Levantine barbels (Luciobarbus pectoralis), a species of fish native to Syria, Turkey, and Lebanon.
