Item #: SCP-XXXX
Classification: Keter
Protocol: SCP-XXXX is currently uncontainable. Discovery of an antidote is currently on going.
Description: SCP-XXXX is a memetic phenomenon which affects human speech. Any person affected with SCP-XXXX will be unable to use more than one word per sentence. Research has discovered that SCP-XXXX affected individuals typically use the most prominent word in the intended sentence.
It has been estimated that over one-million individuals have been affected by SCP-XXXX. Research shows that SCP-XXXX has been growing at an exponential rate. Researchers estimate that SCP-XXXX will have affected half of the world's population by 2050.
Discovery: The first case of SCP-XXXX is unknown. The first known mention was a series of reports of a "silent disease" made by citizens of Knoxville, Mississippi.
Addendum: The following is a note by the SCP-XXXX overseer:
We have estimates of how long we have until everyone is silent. Until everyone is a prisoner of their own mind. We haven't discovered if it spreads like a virus, or chooses its victims. All that matters is that we as The Foundation do what we can to prevent this terrible disease from destroying our minds. We will not remain silent.
